Orange and cinnamon salad

Juicy orange rounds make a refreshing dessert with cinnamon, a little orange-blossom water and fresh mint. It is a simple finish that lets good seasonal citrus do most of the work.

  • 1 tbspMaple syrup
  • ½ tspGround cinnamon

Make it

  1. Cut a thin slice from the top and bottom of each orange. Stand it upright and remove the peel and white pith with a sharp knife, working over a bowl to catch the juice.
  2. Cut the oranges crosswise into 5-mm rounds and remove any seeds. Arrange the rounds on four small plates, keeping the collected juice.
  3. Whisk the orange-blossom water and maple syrup into the juice. Spoon it over the orange slices, then finish with the cinnamon and mint. Serve immediately.
